GreenStax are officially 'No More'
Following their farewell gig at the Royal Mail, where they had such a good night, Giles, Mathew and Simon have decided to stay together and are now looking for a guitarist to fill Andy's spot. The band will be staying in Leicester, so living locally will be an advantage. Also, watch out for some slight changes in musical direction.
I guess that some of you out there are still just discovering Greenstax for the first time. The devastating news is that they've decided to go their separate ways and Greenstax will soon be no more. There's just one gig left at the Royal Mail in June. Please be there if you can and give them the send off that they deserve.
As far as the music is concerned, you can still get copies of the old stuff on cassette or CD. Just send me an email for details. I'll try to put some of the new songs into a form that is suitable for release but this may take some time. Any availability will be announced here so keep dropping in from time to time.
Finally, many thanks to all those people who have supported Greenstax (and Slice) troughout the last few years. Without you it would not have been possible.
The guys are still working hard in the studio. They're now close to the final mix of 'Feel Real' and a new version of 'Harry Wood' with Mat on vocals. The preliminar mixes of 'Monkey Time' also show alot of promise. They intend to issue these new tracks as a single (or EP) probably with a limited edition vinyl pressing. Finally: look out for the new logo - coming to a web site near you soon!
Gigs are being kept to a minimum at present to allow more time to finish off the studio and get some serious recording done. Preliminary takes of a revamped 'Telling The World' sound pretty good.
The secret's out ! See them (with Mat) at The Half Time orange on Tuesday 10th under the disguise of 'The Resurrection' playing a whole set of tremendous Stone Roses covers. In fact the complete Blackpool Live show. Mat will be performing behind bars and with a regulation prison haircut to add authenticity!
Greenstax and Mat from Berimbou are working on a new project which will be announced shortly. Watch this space !!
